P90XLI Day 4 - Yoga X

So Day 4 is done! Yoga X hit the spot today. Perhaps the previous 90 day adventure prepared me to do this again, or perhaps I'm approaching this round more positively than last time, but I definitely have more motivation now. I am still extremely excited for the next 86 days, hopefully that continues.

Nothing to really report on the work front. I've taken a different approach there as well in hopes that my positivity will rub off on others. Hopefully the post amazing vacation happiness will continue!

P90XLI Days 2 and 3

Well I finished days 2 and 3 of my new exercise initiative and they were pretty tough. Max Cardio from the Insanity Series was day 2 and that is possibly the roughest workout I have ever done! Day 3 was Arms/Shoulders and Ab Ripper X. I really missed the Arms/Shoulders routine because I feel extremely jacked in the "glamour muscles" (biceps/triceps/shoulders). The Ab Ripper X routine is not fun at all, but I can see more now how effective it is on the mid section.

I am definitely feeling the first few days of the workout which is absolutely normal and shows that I am making progress. I remember the first week of P90X I did a few months ago and how terrible my body felt at that point so I know I will get through this and get great results!

That's all for today. Still perfecting the diet as I'm trying to be more strict this time around. 87 days to go!

P90XLI Day 1

So after two vacations with a short exercise period in between, I've decided on my next workout adventure. I really enjoyed P90X and the Insanity workouts in between the vacations were pretty solid, so I decided to combine the two into a P90X Lean/Insanity Hybrid program. It will surely be pretty intense and depending on how I feel in a couple weeks, I might add some doubles into the program. I feel like I'm going to get great results from this program and my new diet plans should aid in that.

Anyway, Day 1 was Core Synergistics, and it was tough. Tomorrow is Max Cardio from the Insanity series (which I never made it to) and I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Insanity Trial: Day 3-4

So I took a day off yesterday because I was pretty tired, and I can skip days now if I want to... Anyway, picked back up today with Cardio Power and Resistance which is only about 40 minutes but it is definitely an intense 40 minutes and a very quality workout. I really didn't know I could sweat as much as I have the past few days...and it doesn't help that I never check if my A/C is on or off. Apparently someone doesn't like the A/C and doesn't tell me when they turn it off...

On a positive note, I no longer have to work 72 hours a week! I've been pretty exhausted lately, so the return to normal hours is seriously welcomed. Two weeks to Finland!

Insanity Trial: Day 2

Just finished Day 2!

So I pushed my way through day 2 of Insanity... It was rough to say the least. I thought P90X was tough at times, but I never got to a point where I couldn't continue the workout. I was actually able to keep pace with the P90Xers on just about every exercise besides the "Rock Star Hops" which I didn't keep up on because I absolutely loathed them, maybe the Dreya Rolls as well because those were pretty rough. It seems that will not be the case with Insanity. I guess I'm going to have to heed Tony Horton's P90X motto when doing Insanity: "Do your best and forget the rest!" I seriously don't think I have ever been as gassed as I was during the workout today. I'm extremely pumped to keep pushing myself to get into the best shape I possibly can and to get rid of my damn love handles!

Insanity Trial Day One

So I finished P90X last Thursday(!) and have three weeks before I'm going on a much needed vacation through the Scandinavian North and decided to give Insanity a three week trial run. I had plans to do a hybrid program just to get a look at a few of the Insanity workouts while still doing a few of the P90X workouts, but decided that three weeks of insane cardio would be an excellent idea...we'll see how this goes.

I completed the Fit Test today and my results are below. I'm going to attempt to update this thing daily (I know I suck at keeping this thing going) just to give myself a glimpse of my progress and so I can look back later and find out how much of a badass I am (or am not)!

Hell Week is Over!

"Thai Shred" week one is done! According to my gym rat friend, the first week is always the hardest so finishing all of my planned workouts and eating healthfully should hopefully get easier from here. Not too much going on in my life today. I skipped work to play golf. My score is slowly improving and I think the workouts are helping. Going out tonight to celebrate my friend JC's 30th birthday at the Ritz...should be a fun night.

Day 6
Cardio - walk 18 holes (4 miles)

Meals (Cheat Day)
Breakfast - power bar and sugar free red bull
Morning snack (on-course) - Snickers
Lunch - Hot Dog
Afternoon snack/Dinner - Don't know yet.
